Qigong, pronounced chee gung, is an ancient form of Chinese healing arts that combines physical postures and movements, special breathing techniques and meditation though focused intention. Qi is translated as life force energy that flows through all living things. In yoga it’s called Prana, in Japanese Reiki it’s called Ki. Gong translates to a skill that is cultivated through steady practice over period of time. Qigong increases mental clarity, physical vitality and supports a strong and open heart. The gentle, rhythmic movements of Qigong reduce stress, build stamina, increase vitality and enhance the immune system. It has also been found to improve cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic and digestive functions.
Qigong is fun, easy to learn, easy to do and appropriate for all ages. You don’t need any special equipment or skills to learn Qigong. Just an open mind and happy heart.
I offer introduction to Qigong workshops. If you are interested in hosting one, let me know. They are fun, practical and affordable. Once a year I offer a package of 6 classes for $120. You will learn a special Qigong series that you can do on your own at home. I only offer this once a year because of the New York weather. Qigong is so much better in nature!
I am Qi. Qi is me!
Testimonials for Qigong
“As you know I wasn’t feeling so great when I got there, but the practice definitely helped me to shake it off and feel more peaceful when I left. It’s always a great reminder that you can feel and manipulate energy. I would love to do more Qigong training with you.”
“Aside from seeing my own aura twice and feeling total relaxation, I slept through the night for the first time in weeks! I felt a connection again, with myself and with Gaia. I really needed this as I have not felt well for quite some time. Thank so much SoulFire! I’m really looking forward to learning more!”
