Too stiff for yoga? Try Qi-gong!
Qigong, pronounced chee gung, is an ancient form of Chinese healing arts that combines physical postures and movements, special breathing techniques and meditation though focused intention. Qi is translated as life force energy that flows through all living things. In yoga it’s called Prana, in Japanese Reiki it’s called Ki. Gong translates to a skill that is cultivated through steady practice over period of time. Qigong increases mental clarity, physical vitality and supports a strong and open heart. The gentle, rhythmic movements of Qigong reduce stress, build stamina, increase vitality and enhance the immune system. It has also been found to improve cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic and digestive functions.
Qigong is fun, easy to learn, easy to do and appropriate for all ages. You don’t need any special equipment or skills to learn Qigong. Just an open mind and happy heart.
